![]() ![]() I would also be surprised that Nezihpistarro the establishment owner who takes pride in his business and events that raise funds to help those less fortunate would be okay with such behavior. I prefer not to jump to conclusions but I did question if my party of mixed races was a factor, however given the picture of the late legend Nat King Cole and the selection of music I told myself that this could not be the case. ![]() I found it odd that a place with all this charm fell short on the most important thing (customer service). The reason for my low scoring comes down to the host, an older white woman who stood at the door with a stone cold face. The food was delicious and our server Jeremy did well with his recommendation of the chef specials as well as an excellent job at being very attentive. I will not recommend it to anyone.Ĭonveniently located a few blocks down from the downtown canal and shops, this little restaurant packs serious potential! Visually charming from its interior barn doors, brick ovens, rhythm and blues memorabilia, music and their patio setting next to an adorable little park (perfect for a family with children). To sum it, if you’re looking to pay extra for mediocre food, this is the place for you. The waiter made it sound like it’s a big plate of food, it’s really not, certainly not $30 worth. It has the consistency of high school lunch cafeteria mash potatoes, definitely overpriced base on the quantity(1 small sausage) and quality The baked Brie: tasted ok, nothing special, overpriced And finally, their specialty, the Paella: the flavors were ok, overcooked, overpriced for the portion. Overpriced for the portion and the quality The homemade sausage: at first glance, I thought it was something gross, did not look appetizing, and the mash potatoes were definitely from a box mix. The meatballs: tasted just ok, the sauce was good, lukewarm in the middle but the sauce and the plate was hot, definitely microwaved before coming out. I’ve had good tapas before and this isn’t it. Food: once our food started coming out, they were all mediocre at best, definitely overpriced for what they are. We were going to leave, but decided to stay because we were already in the mood for tapas. We were left there looking at each other and wondering if that really just happened. And as soon as I started to ask a question about one item on the menu, the waiter interrupted me and said “It looks you guys aren’t ready, I’ll give you few more minutes.” Then he put away his pad and just walked off. Service: the waiter asked us if we were ready, we replied “Yes”. Overpriced mediocre tasting food with rude service sums up our experience. ![]() Bar seating is open, but it stays pretty busy, so later in the evening or on weekends, you may have to wait a bit.īe sure to check this off your list if you visit Frederick, or try it out a few times when you are in the downtown area. It is a really popular place, for good reason, so be sure to make a reservation, if you want to be seated at a table. We also enjoy just stopping off here for lunch, or for a few drinks and snacks at the bar. Also, their jumbo lump crab cakes are probably the best that you will ever eat in Maryland or anywhere else. They always have great bar drinks, and a good selection of liquors, as well as a great wine list.īe sure to try their amazing and decadent lobster bisque (my favorite anywhere!), and their lobster mashed potatoes. Even when it is busy, the ambiance is soft and relaxing. We enjoy going here for long, romantic dinners. We have been to the Tasting Room many times over the years, and in spite of changing ownership a few years ago, it has maintained its high standards of excellent menu choices, beautifully presented and delicious food, and excellent service. ![]() This downtown Frederick icon is one of our favorites! ![]()
