trying to factory reset via Settings (asks for pin).trying to enter developer mode (asks for pin).trying to use software update via Settings (tapping it does nothing).trying everything both while charging and while unplugged.samsung's default Email app and Discord are examples of apps that don't load. note the keyboard still doesn't work, I was able to load Wikipedia via the "recently visited" section. WiFi works, as do some stock and 3rd party apps.Ĭamera and Firefox work. the SPen works as a stylus but isn't, and doesn't connect to the tablet. Right before some crashes, I notice the screen tries to rotate to vertical orientation but promptly freezes leaving the horizontal display rotated 90° and extending off-screen. I exclusively keep the tablet's orientation locked horizontally. This only works sometimes as it prompts me to unlock the tablet before shutting down, and sometimes it never exectues the shutdown and just treats it as if I unlocked the tablet. I can only turn the tablet off from the lock screen after a fresh boot (not a restart/reboot). The only way I've found to break the pseudo-bootloop is by doing a forced restart (Vol. I strongly suspect the "Finishing system update" process is the culprit of the crash, but I don't know how to verify that. My best guess is that whatever flag(s) are responsible for telling the system the tablet is unlocked somehow carry over between crashes, and once the system "realizes" that, the above happens. Before unlocking, I noticed that if I wait long enough after a crash, the notification "Tablet restarted, unlock to receive app notifications" will disappear, and shortly afterward a new notification will pop up stating "Finishing system update", at this point, the tablet will freeze and eventually crash/reboot. Notifications seem to work pre-unlock, but after unlocking, they're stuck as whatever they were. Interacting with them can cause the quick menu to get stuck open as well as make the recents and back buttons unresponsive. Though "Recents", "Back", and "Apps" still work Including the power button, including being held or spammed built in keypads/boards work, i.e the lock screen, Calculator, etc It's probably just outright broken, but I can't test it from the lock screen. Specifically after unlocking the tablet, additional things seem to break including: rebooting post-crash sometimes takes much longer than others, I don't know why. This will repeat indefinetely in a sort-of bootloop. If left alone after a crash, it will reboot, and then crash on its own in under a minute. Once unlocked, the tablet will crash within 1-2 minutes and then attempt to reboot. If left alone after powering on from an off state, the tablet will sit idle. The tablet was left on and periodically charged during that span of time The issue was first encountered on July 4th, 2023 after having not used the tablet for ~1 month.overcharging has been avoided where possible. kept laying face-down in a safe space when not in use. Never dropped, gotten wet, crushed, or bent good case amzn + screen protector amzn since day 1. iirc, the only app I have on my tablet and not on my (samsung) phone is Infinite Painter. I tend to be abundantly careful, I only install apps I know I'll use regularly, and I check information about them first to verify safety. Tablet's "Software information" page: imgur.Bought the tablet (new) in October 2020.(But who knows, maybe I'm dumb or missed something obvious) I know it's a wall of text, but this isn't a problem I was able to solve with generic Googling. I've been unsuccessful in factory resetting via Settings and unsuccessful in accessing System Recovery Mode. My tablet crashes after 1-2 minutes of use, I suspect a system update gone wrong. A small progress bar will show on both Odin and the tablet if you do it right. Double-check to make sure things are right then press Start. In the options tab, only Auto Reboot and F.If it doesn't work, repeat this process with the non HOME file for a full system reset. A big thanks and credit to u/PRSXFENG as long as you have everything else set up correctly <-, there's no downside to trying the HOME file first.
