![]() ![]() Sustainability is at the heart of Indigo which is LEED certified, with an eco-roof garden. The Omni clearly has this down.Located in the historic heart of San Diego, Gaslamp Quarter, Hotel Indigo's modern architecture intermixes with the district’s Victorian roots. A comfortable hotel that probably would go to 5 stars if they had more staff to deal with major event weekends. I don't mind going downstairs but don't say on your ticket to call first if you won't have people to take a call. We tried to retrieve our car during an off-hour to put it in a different lot and there was no one at the desk or an operator. Considering the hefty $47 fee, they should show some flexibility the Omni did when we stayed there last year (they were fully booked) They also ask you to call for the car in advance but then don't have staff available to take the calls. The valet also gave us a hard time about leaving the car at the valet into the early afternoon the following day even though we dropped it off fairly late at night. We ended up taking one we found on the street. In addition, we had called a cab via the valet or concierge to go to the airport for the rental car (picked it up mid-trip) but it didn't show. Please note that the room was otherwise spotless. I understand that it is a busy weekend but these are simple things. As shown in the photo, housekeeping left a dirty rag in our bathroom, failed to replace glasses and toilet paper, and one area was somewhat dusty. Recommendation: Do Not Stay on the 9th floor. People were loud and the walls were thin, so we were awakened often (we go to bed on the earlier side). Now the negatives: our room was on the 9th floor, immediately adjacent to the rooftop bar. Rooms were a very nice size with a comfy bed, great shower, and ample storage. First the positives: The hotel is in a great location in the Gaslamp Quarter, within easy walking distance of the area's restaurants, the Convention Center (unless you are in heels or heavy duty cosplay) and Petco Park (right down the street). Although we were generally happy with our room (very sizable), there were some customer service issues that made me take off a couple of stars. We stayed here all 4 nights while in San Diego for Comic Con.
